Servant vs. Service

As many of you have noticed, my work has shifted, back-peddled, and turned on its side, trying to find its place of center. With the help of my amazing coach and dear friend Amber Lilyestrom I finally feel like I'm coming home to the purpose that has eagerly awaited my arrival for some time. Things will, of course, continue to shift as that is the course and way of life, but the path before me is clear, and I feel the gratitude pouring over me. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for being with me on the journey!

This clarity was not reached overnight. It's been baby steps and giant leaps, but one powerful realization underlies all of it. About a month ago, my best friend and I were sharing the aspects of our business that we found to be soul-sucking. We knew it was no longer work we wanted to do, but couldn't justify movement around it at the time. And that's when I said it:  I'm in the business of service, and I feel more like a servant doing this work.

Are You Due For A Life Review?

In those moments of overwhelm, the greatest thing we can do is push the RESET button and re-evaluate what is important to us and how we want to feel!

So what is a life review? We might have heard this term used to describe the process one goes through after they've crossed over. It's an opportunity to examine the life and see how well you lived. How much love did you give?  How much joy did you experience? And when did you withhold it? The classic tale of A Christmas Carol has Ebeneezer Scrooge transformed by his own life review.

What Robin Williams Taught Us: In Life & Death

One of our brightest lights was dimmed last week with the passing of Robin Williams. I found myself grieving deep sadness for a man I never met, but who had played a profound and impactful role in my childhood. He was a comfort and a joy to us all- a spiritual teacher in his own fashion. In re-watching his work, I realized his lesson plan accounted for so much more than making people laugh. His mastery was in his ability to touch the very raw and vulnerable human condition, as well as the greatest potential of our in-spirited being, standing as the bridge between both worlds. His true genius is what he has left behind…
